His Cab Booking Startup Now Valued at Rs 4 Crore.
Today, we’re going to talk about an inspiring journey of a man who started from humble beginnings. Dilkhush Kumar, from Saharsa district in Bihar, once drove an e-rickshaw on the streets of Delhi. He also sold vegetables and worked in construction sector to make ends meet. Coming from a family where his father was a driver, Dilkhush studied up to the 10th grade in a government school, passing with a third division.
In search of better opportunities, he moved to Delhi, drove an e-rickshaw for a while, and then returned to his village to work alongside his father as a driver. However, fate had bigger plans. With the help of a friend, he started the Arya Go App, named after his daughter, which served the Mithila region of Bihar for 3-4 years. Although circumstances led him to leave Arya Go, Dilkhush didn’t stop. He moved to Patna and in 2022 launched a new cab booking app called Rodbez.
What Makes Rodbez Different?
Rodbez stands out because it follows a one-way fare model, unlike other cab booking apps. For instance, if you’re traveling from Darbhanga to Patna, you only pay for that journey, while most companies charge for a round trip, claiming the return ride is empty. This one-way pricing gives Rodbez a competitive edge.
Shark Tank Success
Dilkhush Kumar’s hard work paid off when he appeared in Shark Tank Season 3, where he secured an investment of Rs 50 lakh at a Rs 4 crore valuation from Oyo founder Ritesh Agarwal and Sugar Cosmetics founder Vineeta Singh.
Dilkhush Kumar’s story is a source of inspiration for the youth of Bihar, showing that perseverance and innovation can take you from driving an e-rickshaw to running a multi-crore company.
